missy32's Full Review: Forty Seasons: The Best of Skid Row by Skid Row
When I was growing up in high school I loved music. The great 80 rock music was the best. I listened to all different types of music back then, but when Skid Row came out I was blown away!
Sebastian Bach is the lead singer in the band, and his voice was amazing. He is able to hit all the high notes and carry them through. He sends chills down my spine when I listen to his songs. The band has great talent like Snake, Rob, Scotty, and Rachel. Together this team of singers, and musicians created one of 80's best rock bands. Yes they have the long hair that is associated with the 80 bands, but yet they didnt seem to wear all that make-up.
Not only does Skid Row have some of the best rock songs, they also have some rather awesome love ballads to mix up the CD with. Below is a list of songs you will hear in this awesome CD.
Youth Gone Wild
Growing up in the 80's the youth of America seemed to be free and wild, and this song kind of reflected the views of how many youth felt. It became one of the popular songs from those days.
18 In Life
This was my favorite song on the CD. It is a song about a kid named Ricky who ends up killing another kid and is now spending time in prison. The video to this song was awesome. I felt it showed us that we should watch what we do or else we will spend time (foolish time) in prison to.
I Remember You
Its a rock song, yet kind of a love song. This song I heard almost didnt make the record, but Im so happy that it did. I felt this song related to the young love and how we remember what it was like.
The Threat
I didnt care to much for this song, so I cant relate anything to it. Of course it is a rock song and fast.
Psycho Love
This song could be turned into a thriller flick. I didnt care for it at all.
Here is a list of other songs on the CD that I really didnt listen to often. Just like most CDs you have your favorite songs and then kind of skip over the rest.
Quicksand Jesus- This song people thought it was relating to no faith in Jesus, but they were totally wrong. This song was intended for the Dessert Storm war and how we should have faith in Jesus. I guess some just didnt understand the message of the song
Slave to the Grind-
Into Another-This was song about a low time in one of the members of the bands life.
Frozen-
My Enemy-
Breakin Down
Beat Yourself Blind.
The songs are mostly all great, they have some meanings behind them. I wish the band would have stayed together and been around today. Sebastian has his own show on TV now I believe it is on MTV. I say this CD is great to listen too. I would suggest you buy it.
