This album is incredible. While, as I am told, it is nothing new to fans of black metal, it is very impressive. Christian black metal may seem ironic to some people, but it is a great way of spreading the Gospel. Extremely heavy and fast guitar playing, insane drumming, and lead vocals that range from death growls to operatic, to high screeching. The riffs are amazingly melodic considering the extremely harsh nature of the music, and the lyrics are very thought provoking. Some songs use organs, string arrangements, and acoustic guitars at points. The guitar styles are sometimes machine gun chugga chugga, and sometimes they wail.
Three of the songs are sung in a foreign language (Norweigan?) and it's very cool. Some of the best songs are "Celestial Completion," "embraced," and "Work of art." Another plus is that the album is just over an hour, something that makes it very good in my opinions. The lyrics are pretty deep, getting into some of the problems the band members went through earlier. Topics include struggling with the occult, becoming a new-born Christian, Satan's defeat, and what it will be like to stand in front of the throne of the almighty God.
This album could very well be one of the greatest Christian releases ever. For fans of Dimmu Borgir and Emperor.
