I lived in the country all my life, which means I grew up to country music, but never thought I would ever enjoy music so much. I listen to all kinds of music but this CD made me appreciate the things that I have in life and not to dream about the things I want.
I started loving this band from the first song that I ever heard. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one! Standing strong like no other all girl band I have seen they are back and better than ever! If you have seen the movie "Runaway Bride", you are familiar with the song "Ready to run".
I think it helps women appreciate their femininity and give them total girl power. One of my favourite songs on this CD is “Goodbye Earl” which is basically a song about two best friends and once high school is over they each go their own way and one obviously goes the wrong way, by getting married young and having her husband beat her. In the end they reunite and she divorces the man. They end up owning a little market place beside the highway and living happily ever after.
“Heartbreak Town” is yet another of there many greatest hits, the Dixie Chicks wrote this about a young family moving to a new town and the only people to rely on is each other. Eventually they know it will improve but it makes their love for each other stronger in may ways.
The thing I like most about this hip country trio is that all their songs have a point, but I wish all group bands were like the Dixie Chicks!
