Beawriter's Full Review: Voice of an Angel by Charlotte Church
I bought myself a CD called Charlotte Church, voice of an Angel, after I heard her sing on Oprah. What a voice! She is magnificent, especially for someone so young.
Her music is like a spiritual blanket keeping me warm and cozy. I listen to her voice and wonder at the miracle that such power and beauty can be in one so young.
I prefer classical music and enjoy Opera. Charlotte Church's album fills my need for good music which not only is delightful but soothes me through the hills and valleys of life. I especially enjoy listening to her when I'm working on my inspirational novel, Her music is inspiration enough to help me find the right words and message for my characters.
I understand Charlotte was only 12 years old when this CD was made. With all the really bad music out there today this album is certainly refreshing. There is no shouting, no kill momma, shoot cops, but only sweet instrumentals and beautiful words.
The album contains the following:
Pie Jesu
Panis Angelicus
In Trutina
The Lord's Prayer
Jerusalemn
Ava Maria
Psalm 23
I Vow to Thee, My Country
Danny Boy
My LaganLove
Sno-Gan
A Lullaby
Amazing Grace
Three Welsh Bird Songs
When at Night I go to Sleep
The orchestra is the Welsh National Opera with Sian Edwards, the conductor
Harp and celtic harp are played by Meinir Huelyn
This CD was produced in 1998. It is music which will never be dated since they are already classics which have stood the test of time. Charlotte is also true to her Welsh homeland by including some Welsh songs.
I hope she remains the sweet innocent girl she is now and doesn't get an inflated ego from being such a success. Ego has ruined a lot of singers with less talent than Charlotte.
Meanwhile, I'm going to put the CD on again and sit back and enjoy this angelic voice.
