Scully9's Full Review: Voice of an Angel by Charlotte Church
This is Charlotte Church's first CD, she was only 12 at the time. She has a soaring soprano voice with perfect tones. She came from singing in karoke bars and small time talent shows to finally being discovered. She sang "Pie Jesu," on a TV show (over the phone) , and that bought the music executives to her door. The CD has an emphasis on religious music. I find the CD very calming and relaxing. In comparing this to Charlotte's other CD's this is just a mild taste of her talent.
"Amazing Grace," and "Danny Boy," are refreshing changes to the rest of the CD. These tunes sound more of what you would expect of the Charlotte Church. This young woman is extremely talented and gifted as a performer.
On the tape of this performance Charlotte presents herself as an poised and articulate young person. This first CD broke records for classical sales. Charlotte has become a staple of cross-over classical. Ms. Church also attracts people into classical who actually say they hate it.
I always give this CD as a gift paired with "Charlotte Church," for someone I feel is very special. All my friends thank me for giving them
"Voice of An Angel," your friends will thank you too!
