The Bottom Line: If you want to get a taste of this gal's gift, don't start with this CD! Check out Angels of Mercy, Along The Road or her self-titled first release first.
I love Susan Ashton's voice, her style, her choices in releases, but I was very disappointed in this CD, which I received as a gift. It had little to nothing in common with her previous albums, and her attempt at country did not fly. The songs are too slow, too sappy, and too far from her level of excellence.
In addition I was disappointed with the images throughout the album: every single one was of Susan, and some were a bit too sexy. Her reputation as a Christian artist does not align with the image portrayed here.
Every single song was a love song, and fell into "country grammar"...again, a far cry from the simple and beautiful work of her previous albums, including her compilation with Margaret Becker and Christine Dente.

One song on this CD does remind me of the true sound of this Susan Ashton: her re-make of "Can't Cry Hard Enough."
