Before I tell you about californication heres how they were before it.

They started out in Fairfax High school, Anthony became friends with Flea(Michael Balzary) and they wrote some songs together before Hillel Slovak and Jack Irons joined the band.

Hillel and Jack quit the band and joined another band called What is This. Jack Sherman and Cliff Martinez then replace them.

The band is now called The Red Hot Chili Peppers, then their first, self titled record is released in 1984. It didn't do very well so they released their second called Freaky Styley in 1985, Hillel Slovak rejoins.

Uplift Mofo Party Plan their third album is released in 1987, it is a great album and also Jack rejoined to form the original band.

Then the Abbey Road EP is released. Then the biggest worst thing that could happen happened, Hillel dies of heroin in June. The band was in great doubt about making another album.

They decided to make another, Duane McKight joins to replace Hillel and is then replaced by John Frusiante, Jack then quits and they then Chad Smith fills the drum chair.

The next album Mothers Milk is released in 1989 and goes gold, it was the best album at the time. Frusiante provides the band with amazing guitar work.

Then it gets better in 1991 when they release Blood Sugar Sex Magik, it is the best funk album ever. It included some of their best songs like Under the Bridge and Give It Away. Then it all goes wrong again. Frusiante quits the band half way through the bands world tour in Japan, Arik Marshall replaces him immedientely to finish the tour. Arik leaves the band and then is replaced by lots of other guitarist untill they finally get their man Dave Navarro former Janes Addiction guitarist.They then play at Woodstock and in 1995 release there sixth album One Hot Minute. Navarro leaves the band and then John Frusiante rejoins the band to make the amazing album Californication.

After Frusiante quit the band he went into a world of heroin, so he wasn't fit enough to play with the chili peppers. He had also stopped playing the guitar for a while and had been busy as an artist, Flea had kept in touch with him and asked him if he would ever consider rejoining the chili peppers. Frusiante said yes and he got his guitar out of a big pile of paintings and started practising again. He gradually got healthier and then was able to start making music. He stopped painting because he wasn't as good as he wanted to be, his true talent was playing the guitar.Then they started work on the amazing Californication.

They went into Fleas garage and came out with around fifty songs. While recording Frusiante stayed back to try and make some good guitar tunes because he wasn't as good as he used to be.

They managed to record fifteen great songs to make this their best album ever, though I like their older ones but this is one hell of an album. It was released by warner brothers. Here is what I think about every song and why I like it.

1-AROUND THE WORLD
Brilliant first song this one really is a great tune, it starts of with the bass and finishes with the guitar. It has a really catchy chorous and brilliant rap from Anthony Keidis. They realeased a video of this one and as usual they had their tops off. It is about the places in the world they have been to and what they think about it.

2-PARALLEL UNIVERSE
This is more of a heavy song though still very good and it has some very weird tunes in it. I don't know what its about it also has weird lyrics. The some is funky during the verses and then it gets heavy for the chorous, it finishes of with the guitar making weird tunes. It is a very entertaining song.

3-SCAR TISSUE
One of their best songs ever, it starts of with a guitar and it has about three guitar solos. Definately one of their best guitar songs. It is about health, pain and stuff, in the video they are wearing bandages with cuts and scraps all over them. This is a great tune it was their first release from the Californication album.

4-OTHERSIDE
I think this song is in one of Frusiantes solo albums and it has been changed a bit. It was another big release, it is a mellow song with a catchy chorous and a heavy guitar solo

5-GET ON TOP
Fast and funky is how to describe this song, it is great. It has a fast guitar and pumping bass. It is one of those good songs that should have been released.

6-CALIFORNICATION
What a masterpiece this is the best song on the album and so is the video. The video cost then a lot of money because it was in animation. The song is a mellow one and a very good one Its amazing how many word they got that have I.O.N at the end of them. It also has a good guitar solo and the bass sounds brilliant.

7-EASILY
This song is about what the title says, like its easily to do anything anytime. It is a indie rock song with a guitar solo.

8-PORCELAIN
Well this probley the worst song ever by the chili peppers but it is still okey. Its very mellow and sung softly.

9-EMIT REMMUS
I don't know what this song is about but it is an okey song. It has lots of instruments and the chorous is very catchy.

10-I LIKE DIRT
Very fast rap and guitars so I love this song. It has a good chorous and if you can sing along to the verse at the same speed as Anthony then you must be amazing.

11-THIS VELVET GLOVE
Good mellow song and then a bit of heavier funk in the chorous.

12- SAVIOR
This song is about savior and it is probely the only song in the album which is'nt funky or mellow. It is lovely song and it show what a wonderful voice Anthony has.

13-PURPLE STAIN
Personally I love this song but I don't think anyone else might. It is funky though it sounds differant. It also has a fast guitar solo at the end.

14-RIGHT ON TIME
Another fast and funky song. This one also has a very catchy chorous.

15-ROAD TRIPPIN'
This is a lovely mellow song and it was the last of their releases in this album. It is an acoustic song with no drums. It is about three members of the band hangin out with each other somewere.

This album was sold millions of copies and went platinum every were it also went gold in some places. It was produced by their favourite producer Rick Rubin who also produced there last three albums. I hope I have helped you buy this album because you will love it if you know good music
