sadida's Full Review: Bodyrock [Maxi Single] by Moby
Moby's Bodyrock was the 3rd single to be released on Moby's greatly successful album, "Play". The first single was Honey, and the second single was Run On. While both are great songs, Bodyrock was the single that got Moby records playing on dance floors again.
If you aren't aware, Moby has been releasing music since 1990. There is a huge amount of material to explore, and Bodyrock is a great start for the new listener.
Bodyrock is a dance floor track with a slight hip hop feel. If you are looking to pick this up as a single, there is one single you should keep an eye out for. The V2 records release (63881-27599-2) contains a great selection of remixes and b-sides. There are 8 tracks total. The tracklisting is:
1 Bodyrock (Dean Honer Mix)
2 Bodyrock (Olav Basoski's Da Hot Funk Da Freak Funk Remix)
3 Bodyrock (Rae & Christian Remix)
4 Bodyrock (B & H's Bodyrob Mix)
5 Bodyrock (Dani König Remix)
6 Bodyrock (Album Version)
7 Sunday
8 Sunspot
Tracks 7 and 8 are slower, more melodic tunes. Moby releases quite a few tracks such as these as b-sides. I love these tracks, maybe even more than the singles they come on.
Whether you are a Moby collector, or just getting started, this single is definitely one to buy.
