This was my introduction to Third Day and I must say I was

well pleased. The music on this CD reminds me mostly of
Guardian, with some overtones to the Christian megagroup
Petra. It has the same formats as Guardian, with southern
rock songs as well as blues songs. The rock songs aren't
as hard on the guitar as Guardian, reminding me more of
Petra's Beyond Belief in places.
By far, my two favorite songs on the CD are "I've Always
Loved You" and "Can't Take The Pain". "I've Always Loved
You" has been well played on the Christian Contemporary
stations and has no further need of comment. "Can't Take
The Pain" should be played nearly as much. It is the story
of Peter's denial of Christ and restoration. The first time
I heard it, for the first verse, I did not associate Peter with
the song. As such, it grabs the listener as a song that we
can (and often do) sing to God.
The reasons why I don't give this five stars is two-fold.
First, the CD only has 10 songs, a near-minimum for any
CD. Second, it doesn't exactly 'click' with me, the way a
few Petra CDs did. It's a good CD, well worth $15, but
it's not something that will be played until you have to buy
a new one..
