heb's Full Review: Charlotte Church by Charlotte Church
Charlotte Church's last cd was entitled the Voice of an Angel. This title is not an exaggeration. Charlotte Church is her second cd, and it is better than the first. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the voice of an angel; if angels sang, they would sound like this.
I love music. Music of any kind. I'm not kidding, if it's music, I'll listen to it. I like everything from Metallica to Garth Brooks to the Beattles, and everything in between. I like rap, rock, classical, oldies, seventies, country, broadway, opera, and much more. This cd probably falls in the category of opera or classical. However, you don't have to like opera to appreciate this cd.
This cd is like a Monet. You do not have to appreciate art to see the beauty in one of Monet's works. The same can be said for this cd. If you like opera, great, you'll love this cd. However, if you hate opera, you can still listen to this music and aprreciate it for what it is. A beautiful singer singing timeless songs. Even if you don't think you'll like this kind of music, I recommend that you check it out. It won't kill you, and it just might turn you on to a new form of music.
Charlotte Church the cd is a great cd from the beginning to the end. This cd has diverse songs on it. Want to check out some great opera music, it's on here. Want to here a classic hymn sung like it was meant to be sung, it's on this cd.
This cd even has a song used in a commercial on it. In fact, it's one of my favorite songs on the cd. It is the Ford Millenium Anthem; it's an inspirational, beautiful song that you can't help but hum along to. My favorite song on this cd is a beautiful song called "tis the last rose of summer". This song is heartbreaking and wonderful. Listening to this song, I often have to fight back tears; it is so emotionally powerful, her voice just gets to you.
It is hard to believe that this music comes from just a child. A child that is growing into a woman, who will one day be the greatest opera singer in the world. It is almost inevitable.
Every song on this cd is great. There is depth and layer to each and every song. This is not the voice of a child, this is a voice of an expert. In my opinion, Charlotte Church is just about the most talented singer out there right now.
If you apreciate good music. If you can enjoy it for the art that it truly is, than this cd is for you. If you want to be introduced to a different form of music; something different than the Backstreet boys and Brittany Spears, try this; you just might learn to like a new form of music.
I suppose that this kind of music isn't for everyone; but, I think if people opened their hearts and minds and truly listened to it, anybody would enjoy it. This is a great cd. If you just can buy one cd of Charlotte Church, this is the one. However, I recommend you try her first cd also, check out her Christmas CD, it's great to.
Just give this cd a chance. I bet you'll like it, if you really listen to it. It truly is a wonderful work of art; a masterpiece.
