Pros: Tight production, great variety, thought provoking lyrics
Cons: Some of the remixes are pretty weak.
The Bottom Line: Great for chilling at home with friends on a Saturday, long car drives, breaking up a rough work day, and on the way home from the club.

Track Highlights
[1] The Garden - This is the soundtrack of the garden outside the Sunday 8pm mansion. You pass a few workers, slaving away on the most exquisite
flowers you have ever seen.
[2] Bring my Family Back - The lyrics are presented hip hop style and tell some rather touching tales of separated families. The stories are so well crafted and are spouted in a smooth, rhyming presentation.
[3] Postcards - Faithless was sampling Dido long before Eminem made it hip on his track "Stan". You may not know it, but Dido is actually the little sis of one of the members of Faithless. In fact, before Dido went solo, she used to tour with Faithless and sing at their shows. More grinding lyrics and a slick "downtown" feel.
[4] Long Way Home - The depth of this track is amazing. It yanks at your emotions and kicks your heart into a frenzy. The stutter effects in this track, especially at the end are a nice touch. I prefer the "end of the road" remix because it contains more vocals.
[5] Why go? - This track is a very quiet and moody song. It isn't one of my favorites on the CD, but it does keep things interesting. Variety is the spice of life right :)
[6] She's my baby - More like "she's my fill track". Smooth rhyming vocals and a generally nice driving track, but nothing all that memorable.
[7] God is a DJ - Ahh yes, god is a dj. This is the track that turned me on to Faithless. I was flipping past M2 one night and this video just put me in a trance. Most of the track contains live concert footage. I had never seen so many people moving together as one. You don't really need the video though. The track itself emits a flurry of visuals. You can see the crowd pulsing as the keyboardist pounds out the tune and feel the collective sign when the track finishes.
[11] Hour of Need - This is an interesting one. It starts out sounding as if it could be a Beck track and then turns into a nice feel good track. Heck, I bet you could even get
grandparents to dance to this one at a wedding :)
[12] God is a DJ (edit) - While it is nice to have another version of God is a DJ, this isn't the version I would have liked to have had. I am not a big fan of edits. On many occasions, edits will seem crowded and rushed. When you take an 8 minute track and compress it to 3 minutes, 30 seconds, you lose a lot of the buildups and emphasis that make a track powerful. Unfortunately, this is quite evident in this edit.
Remix CD - Saturday 3AM
[4] Bring my Family Back (Paul Van Dyk mix) -
You can definitely tell this is a PVD mix. It has the trademark drum kick, quiet vocal samples, and build up whooshes (you know what I'm talking about...right?).
This remix doesn't really retain the tone of the original, but it is a good pumping remix that is sure to keep a dancefloor moving.
[6] Hour of Need (Skinny Mix) - Take the original mix and add a few breakdowns and you're done. This is more of a true re-mix than the re-work that re-mix has come to mean. I guess that's a good thing sometimes :)
[8] God is a DJ (Yes He Is) - Here we are treated to a house track with some breaks and tranceness thrown in for good measure. It's a completely different feel from the original, but contains all of the elements that make the original so good. Speed this track up a bit and it would fit nicely into a Paul Oakenfold mix.
[9] Thank You - Thank you is a wondrous trance track that thanks the listener. What are they thanking your for? The thank you's appear to be sampled from a live performance. Even though they are thanking me, I feel that I should be the one thanking them for the great music.
What else should I check out?
If you liked this album, definitely check out the following.
Dido - No Angels
