fisch's Full Review: More Songs From Pooh Corner by Kenny Loggins
More Songs From Pooh Cornerby Kenny Loggins was released on February 8, 2000 by Sony Wonder and is available on CD and audio cassette.
The CD cover is of a magical quality. You see Kenny Loggins most likely singing to two young boys around a low burning fire. The background shows a castle up to the left, Pegasus flying off to the right, a moon, fireflies, stars, dreamy clouds, and so on. It has a kind of ethereal feeling to it. The CD includes a list of all of the songs and all of the words to each (nice for people who are like me and like to sing along to the songs with the right words).
More Songs From Pooh Corner is a wonderful addition to any family’s growing collection of sleepy time melodies. If you own as many of the children’s genre of videos/DVDs as we do, then you will recognize the many ‘hits’ from these kinds of movies as well as a few other lovely songs. Kenny Loggins has an amazingly soothing and equally relaxing voice that can calm the stirrings of the little ones and send them contentedly into dreamland. Ok, maybe I’m embellishing a bit. Seriously though, your children will love falling asleep to these wonderful songs.
If you purchased Return to Pooh Corner by Kenny Loggins and loved it for all of it’s classic childhood songs, and you were hoping for another collection of the same type, then More Songs From Pooh Corner will be apt to disappoint you in that respect. As I mentioned before, this CD is packed full of the more recent songs from children’s movies such as my son’s two favorites from ‘Babe, Pig in the City’ and ‘The Tigger Movie.’ There are also songs that will touch you such as ‘Always, In All Ways.’
Songs
1. Your Heart Will Always Lead Me Home: The Tigger Movie
2. You’ll Be in my Heart: Tarzan
3. Always, In All Ways
4. Flying Dreams: The Secret of NIMH
5. That’ll Do: Babe, Pig in the City
6. Turnaround
7. Beauty and the Beast: Beauty and the Beast
8. Baby Mine: Dumbo
9. The Inch Worm: Hans Christian Anderson
10. Hana Aluna Lullabye
11. Goodnight
The titles on More Songs From Pooh Corner are delightful. The music is soft and the feeling of this CD is similar to Return to Pooh Corner. I would definitely recommend this CD if you enjoy listening to Kenny Loggins and you like children’s movie songs. This CD will not disappoint you or your little ones. Happy listening!
