I picked up " Reinventing the steel " the first day that it came out. I heard the first single " Revolution is my name " on a local radio station where I am from. It totally kicked my ass! So I bought it, and listened all the way through. It was hard to grasp at first, because even after a couple years, I still had " Trendkill " fresh in my head. My favorite track on R.T.S. is " It makes them dissappear ". It starts off sounding kind of eerie, and just comes in bashing your skull with this monsterous, bulldozer-slow riff. Dimebag's playing, as always is nothing short of phenominal, and Rex and Vinnie do their own share of shredding, though always keeping a steady groove and awesome time as a rhythym section should. Phil's sounds angry and sometimes distraut on the album. He pulled of a Lemmy style vocal on " Death rattle " which was very cool, and " Hellbound " is reminiscent of the Trendkill and Far beyond days. Overall, I think that this is an extremely rock-solid and devastatingly ass-kicking, whiskey-howling, hit-your boss in the balls type of album.
