I know, I know, the "you might be a redneck" joke went the way of parachute pants, blonde jokes and Gary Coleman. We all liked them at one time, but that's all in the distant past. When I was first introduced to this CD, I had the same level of excitment ussually reserved for a Joe Piscopo movie marathon or an evening spent listening to Dixieland Jazz.
Was I ever in for a shock as to how funny this CD really was. Sure, there are a few "redneck" jokes littered on here, but Jeff actually found a way to make this one funny. It's almost like a mini-episode of Seinfeld (something his sitcom will never be described as) about how he 'came up' with the joke, and the story behind it.
It almost reminds me of classic Bill Cosby, because it's lots of funny stories about his family, made all that much better by his delivery. He even manages to make fun of his failed sitcoms, and what a blessing that turned out to be. (Not just for you Jeff, for all of us. It was painful seeing you not be funny.)
This is the rare cd that is drop dead funny and you can play for the entire family. I didn't care for the obligatory country song at the end, but other than that, my only complaint is I didn't want it to end. Check it out.
