The Bottom Line: I think this album is worth every penny, however, this music may not be everyone's style so check out the sample tracks first before spending your money.
BARRY0619's Full Review: Century Seasons: The Space Music Of... - Jonn Serr...
Recently I was introduced to some of Jonn Serries music while shopping at a local store. Many music stores, this one included, offer customers the option of listening via headset to certain CD's that the store is attempting to sell.
One CD that gained my attention was Century Seasons. It's a double CD set. Well I tried the first song on CD#1 entitled Gentle the Night and was instantly hooked.
Many probably have not heard of or listened to space music but I am reasonably assured that many of those who give the music a chance will become hooked. The music is also in the field of electronic music. The music utilizes Analog and Digital synthesizers.
If you have ever visited a planetarium, there is a good chance that you may have heard some of Serries work. His music gives you the feel of a deep space atmosphere and has the ability to relax even the most stressed out individuals.
Having read some biographies written about Serrie and his fascination with space and the aviation industry, I guess it is not surprising that he is an FAA licensed pilot.
Serrie also has some impressing credentials having worked with NASA, the US Navy, and even composed music for Lucasfilm Ltd.
I am in the process of purchasing other albums by Serrie and have not been disappointed yet.
If you think that this type of music might interest you, go to CDnow.com and listen to a few tracks of Century Seasons. I have a feeling that you will like what you hear.
