You have to admire Fatboy Slim for the great variety of music on this CD. There are samples from Morrison, Macy Gray, as well as a reverand. The 10 tracks play almost seamlessly. Fatboy Slim is the type of artist that rarely gets the recognition he deserves. I hear people walking down the halls of my school, mumbling my school. But if you ask them if there a fan of Fatboy Slim, they respond with a puzzled look, "who"?.
I'm sure you've heard atleast 2 of the 10 tracks. First of, Ya Mama is played in commercials for Charlies Angels. And Weapon of Choice is routinly played on MTV marked as buzzworthy.
Some tracks fall in the "what the hell is this?" category. A good example being Retrox. What in the hell does "Retroz the freak in me" mean?!? Also, I wish there would have been more music. 10 tracks was acceptable back in the day of cassettes, but I guess I'm just spoiled by CD's with over 20 songs.
I think the CD would be a good choice if your a fan of Fatboy Slim. Her has a very distinctive style that few artists have. But I think the the average Joe might be left out.
