Pros: comfortable blend of fuzz rock and analog synth, not a bad track among 'em
Cons: lost the "edginess" of earlier albums
The Bottom Line: Thoroughly enjoyable riffs, less of a "random-jam" and more structured than earlier releases. If you're just cutting your teeth on the band, this would make a good primer.

I've come to enjoy a great amount of work from artists like ANT(X). "On the Wires of our Nerves" was a phenomenal introduction to their style, and I was hoping to hear more of the same controlled chaos, the who-needs-a-genre-anyway sounds from this 2000 release.
While I'm not totally disappointed, this album sounded more like an extra set of tracks that could have been interlaced with the last LP release to form a double album. It's almost as if the band's sound has dulled a bit and become more lounge-like, if that's at all possible (remember, we're describing a style that really doesn't follow any sort of pattern whatsoever).
They are all enjoyable tracks, prime examples of what the band has evolved into...chilled fuzz-synth, with strong rock undertones. But anyone who really enjoyed the haphazard auditory assaults of earlier releases will find this more methodical, calculated, and fit-to-form. The songs are definitely tighter, and the jams and riffs are much more structured and melodic that in tracks past.
You may be seeking exactly what this album has come to represent for ANT(X); you may not. Just be aware of the differences, either way.
