The world of country music became aware of Tim McGraw in 1994 when he began putting out the hits. Since then, he has taken the world by storm and gave us hit after hit. He is a wonderful singer and has become quite a talented producer as well. He looks sure are fine too!
His Greatest Hits collection was released in November 2000 by Curb Records. This was his 5th album. On it you will find 15 great hits. The album is produced by James Stroud, Byron Gallimore, Tim McGraw. Faith Hill is a co-producer on one song. This album shot through the roof selling thousands of copies and hitting #1 on the charts in no time.
Here is what you will hear on the album:
Indian Outlaw (Tommy Barnes, Gene Simmons, John D Loudermilk) This song is about an Indian and some of his adventures. He is half Cherokee and half Choctaw. Tim took some slack for recording this one.
Don't Take the Girl (Larry Johnson, Craig Martin) This has to be one of my very favorite songs on this album. It is about different stages in a person's life going from child to teen to man. As a boy, he doesn't want his dad to take the girl fishing with them. As a teen, he doesn't want the robber to take the girl. As a man, he doesn't want God to take the girl during childbirth. It is a very moving ballad.
She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart (Tom Shapiro & Chris Waters) This is about a man that has a woman that men look at everywhere they go. She is beautiful and popular, but she never lets it get to her. She only wants him and none of those other guys.
I Like It, I Love It (Steve Dukes, Jeb Stuart Anderson, Markus Hall) This is about a guy who is just crazy over this girl. He changes his life for her-cleans the house, quit watching the Braves games, washes his truck just to pick her up.
Just to See You Smile (Mark Nesler, Tony Martin) This is about a guy who would do anything to make his girl smile including leaving her when she said she needed time. When she has a new guy he doesn't show his hurt because he only wants to see her smile.
It's Your Love (Stephony Smith) This song is a duet with his beautiful wife Faith Hill. It is a gorgeous love song about love being a beautiful thing. They can't get enough of each other.
Where the Green Grass Grows (Jess Leary, Craig Wiseman) This is about someone who wants to get away from the city life. He wants to "watch my corn pop up in rows, point our rocking chairs towards the west, plant dreams where the peaceful river flows". He doesn't want to live with "concrete growing in the city park and not knowing who your neighbors are".
For a Little While (Steve Mandile, Jerry Vandier, Phil Vassar This song is about a guy looking back on a past love. He laughs everytime he thinks back. When he thinks of their summer together he always smiles.
Please Remember Me (Rodney Crowell, Will Jennings)
Patty Loveless provides beautiful background vocals on this cut. This is about a couple breaking up and him asking her to remember him. He tells her she will find a better love.
Something Like That (Rick Ferrell, Keith Follese) This song is about a guy that's 17 and meets this girl that he is crazy over. Five years later he is on a plane and hears her voice. He never forgot her over the years.
My Best Friend (William Luther, Aimee Mayo) This was a song that my sister chose to be played at her wedding. It is about a guy that all his life he never had anyone to count on. With his new love he never felt alone and live together would make perfect sense. She is not only his lover, but also his best friend. What a beautiful song.
Maybe We Should Sleep On It (Jerry Laseter, Kerry Kurt Phillips) This is about a woman who has all of her stuff packed up to leave. The man just can't let her go. He says that he will pay the movers to leave the truck and they can just sleep on it and decide if it's the right decision to break up.
Down on the Farm (Kerry Kurt Phillips, Jerry Laseter) Every Friday night there is a big party on the farm. They turn the country music up loud and have a good time. (That's my kind of party!)
My Next Thirty Years (Phil Vassar) This guy is going to celebrate his age, turning 30 and he is going to focus on the next 30 years. He is going to do some things differently: watch his weight, eat a few more salads, not stay up so late and drink more lemonade than beer.
Let's Make Love (William Luther, Aimee Mayo, Marv Green, Chris Lindsey) This is a beautiful duet with Faith Hill. All day long she has been drifting away, dreaming of holding him. She wants to be as close to him as possible. The chorus says, "Let's Make Love all night long, until all our strength is gone".
All of these songs come from the following first four albums: Not a Moment Too Soon, All I Want, Everywhere, and A Place in the Sun. Tim McGraw is one talented singer.
My favorites from this CD are: Don't Take the Girl, It's Your Love and My Best Friend.
