First off, I agree fully with your "King of NY" statements -- I don't think anyone, Nas or Jay included, can relinquish that title from B.I.G., though everyone will sure step up to the plate and try. I do have a bit more of a positive outlook on this album, mainly because it just varies so much from his last 2 flops, however, I still kick myself when I see I called it "probably the best hip-hop album to come out in 2001." Oh well, I was still in the honeymoon period.
Regardless, I definitely think it's a hot album, well-worth the purchase price. Good to read your input on it...D

Much airplay as Jay gets, some of his stuff tends to sound kind of similar. And you're right about the whole Jigga thing...I'm not down with Nas too much most of the time, too, but Mr. S dot Carter is going have to try a whole lot harder to get into the same league as Nas.
