This Is Not Your Mother's Christmas Album.

Pros: A Fresh, outside the box view of some Christmas Classics.

Cons: It's a very esoteric joke that will be lost on most people.

The Bottom Line: Thinking outside the gift box. A creative spin on the usual boring Christmas crap.

To keep it short and sweet I will say that this foray into Christmas by Brad (Crash Test Dude) Roberts and Company is not what your Mother, or Grandmother for that matter would expect in a Christmas Album. Some of the tunes have been moved to Minor keys and the arrangements are just slightly left of center, to say the least.

In response to another reviewer on this site who wondered if this album was perhaps a very obscure joke that she didn't get...yes, it is intended to be taken with tongue firmly planted in cheek. Anyone who has listened to the Dummies other albums would certainly not be caught off guard by this deliciously warm Christmas treat for those on prescription medication.
