What do you get when you mix beautiful voice, great music, catch lyrics and a punky-gothy music scene?
Evanescence!
What most are calling this is "nu-metal". Amy Lee herself has told reporters in interviews that this band is not goth or punk.
The two founders, Amy Lee and Ben Moody are the best of friends and it shows in their tight, play-it-again music style. What I find amazing is that these two had a tune playing on their local radio station but THERE WASN'T a BAND!
There's more to Evanescence than just these two, but my heck, try finding some info on them! Not easy, but when I find more, I will come back and revise this entry.
Evanescence's music means whatever you want it to mean. If you go through the lyrics, you can bend any of the songs to your own experiences...easily.
Their's is a great sound! Their song "Bring Me to Life" has been certified triple platinum, an impressive feat for a freshman cut.
Thank you Evanescence! I thought I was never going to find another band to take me where I once thought only "Heart" and "Fleetwood Mac" could take me. Go Amy!
