jimmiespipe's Full Review: Three Days Grace by Three Days Grace
Every one in a blue moon, there comes a and that breathes a fresh breathe into the lifeless body that is rock n' roll. So quick are reviewers to label a band nu-metal, call them crap, and dismiss their artistic achievement. The most evil word in all of music has been the genre term "nu-metal". Highly misunderstood and 90% of the time misinterpreted, the genre has been applied negligently more than correctly.
Three Days Grace delivers easily the best record since the debut album from 30 seconds to mars. Mastering the overused drop D guitar riff and choppy STP music writing format, three days grace performs CPR on a dying form of music...........frickin rock. After seeing bands like Nickleback, alien ant farm, and default butcher the name of rock n' roll since the departure of STP and Alice in Chains, the Days bring a riff based righting format that strikes memories of Weiland while recalling the radio friendliness of basically single track break through artist since the mid 90's.
The vocals bury themselves in the failed relationship category, but the unique vocal stylings erase the creative lack. Supported by the best backing band since Stp, Days lays track after track of the best radio rock in years. The single, "I hate everything" is catching on like a plague with radio stations and rightfully so. Anyone who makes it to the store and picks up the album is only in for a better treat that the single offers.
Not since System's "Toxicity" or Tool's "Lateralus" have a felt better about a better spent lucre. Catch the single on the radio and/or catch an excerpt on the Internet.
If you can imagine a supergroup combining the best aspects of pre-dilution AIC, pre-dilution STP you might have some conceivable idea of the hard rock power of three days grace. The musical format as well as well as the lyrical approach are addictive. And for anyone masquerading as the name punkrawka, find this album fast!
