Chris_Billings's Full Review: Love Comes Again [Single] by Tiesto
For a while now, I've been caught up in the whole "Electronic Music" scene. Actually it started in the early to mid 1980's that I've been listening to Electronic music in one form or another. Whether it be New Age or Techno, I have enjoyed many forms of music.
But I really never got into the whole Techno with Vocals stuff, until a few years ago I came across some artists such as, BT, ATB, and Tiësto. While female vocalists pretty much rule the Techno/Trance universe, there are some male vocalists that have made it.
Everyone who knows music (no matter what genre you are in to) knows who BT (aka...Brian Transeau) is. He's worked with and remixed all kinds of Artists and Groups (Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Seal, etc), as well as scored the music for several films (Stealth, Monster, etc)
BT is a classically trained musician who's focused turned to Techno while in college. Not only can he play several instruments (keyboards, guitar, etc) he has a passion for singing. It's amazing how he can turn a Techno piece into a "Ballad".
Well, DJ Tiësto is a force to be reckoned with as well. Not only is the Dutch born DJ a great remix artist, he has several original full length albums/compositions out. On his latest venture, he teams up with BT to create one of the greatest pieces in the genre.
Aside from BT's own Single THE FORCE OF GRAVITY, Tiësto's collaboration with BT on the Single, LOVE COMES AGAIN is one of my favorite songs.
The song proves that you can blend several genre's into one that will satisfy the tastes of almost every music connoisseur.
Techno artists have been beaten up over the fact that most of the performers sample and take from other artists/groups instead of coming up with something of their own. Well not these two artists. Whether or not you like the song, you can say that there is at least a degree of talent when it comes to BT and Tiësto. Just listen and read the lyrics to any of there songs.
You have become,
what you have always been...
light flickering around,
peripheral vision...
No words we can speak,
our paths have been chosen...
But all trails that we trek,
should lead us back to here because our...
Love,
Comes Again...
Just when Ive broken down I found...
Love Can Come Again...
The piece is great sounding, as it opens with some distorted synth stabs, then the drum programming starts faking the listener out, giving you the impression that this is just another Dance track. The piece slows down, continuing with the drum beats, then a couple minutes later, BT jumps in on the vocals. The synth parts between the verses has an epic feel to it, as do most Tiësto original compositions.
I might sound crazy when I say this, but I think that this song is kinda romantic. Its about two people in love, who cant be together now, but in the end they will be brought back together. Thats my take on things.
I think that the song is perfect, and I dont care for the remix by Mark Norman too much. Its good, dont get me wrong. Im just partial to the original version. The remix retains most the elements of the original piece, but it feels too rushed in my opinion.
My suggestion is to buy the full length album, JUST BE which this Single appears on. I dont think you will be disappointed with buying the whole album. Id have to say its at the top of my list.
