sponkit's Full Review: Rhythm of the Rain by The Cascades
Music is always a part of our life. As the decades passed, the music evolved in different ways. If you want to hear music that could penetrate your sentimental feelings, listening to the songs of The Cascades is not a bad idea.
The band
The band was formed in 1960. The original name of the band was Silver Strand. They were a group of U.S. Navy personnel who performed at the local venues and their audiences were servicemen and local inhabitants. The group decided to leave the Navy. They changed the name of their band and they became The Thundernotes. Len Green wrote an instrumental song called Thunder Rhythm. This song was included in their first record release under Del-Fi Records. Their first attempt in recording was not successful; this did not stop the group from making more songs. After they recorded series of demos, Barry De Vorzon let them have a contract under Valiant Records and changed the name of their name to The Cascades.
The members of the band were John Gummoe (lead vocals), Eddy Snyder (guitar), David Szabo (keyboard), Dave Stevens (bass), and Dave Wilson (drums).

WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT IT?
Great lyrics: The lyrics of the songs are really good. Each song has its own classic edge. All songs reflect simple sentiments of a hopeless romantic guy like the song entitled I Wanna Be Your Lover.
Good voices: The voices of the Cascades sound splendid because their voices blend well. The songs remain fresh and pure love songs. I could not stop listening to the song Lucky Guy, Shy Girl, etc.
Realistic: Whether they are brokenhearted or not, the listeners of the songs could relate to the songs. Anybody could relate to the guy in the song Lucky Guy or Punch and Judy.
WHAT ABOUT THE BAD STUFF?
Not too many songs: I really like their songs; probably there should be a bonus track or something :)
Final recommendation:
If you want to fall in love with sentimental songs, Rhythm of the Rain is the right album for you. I like Cascades because of its exceptional sound. If you want good music, certainly you did not want to miss listening to the Cascades.
