Nightbird better be better than Loveboat! Still, I bought my tickets for their tour. Can't wait!

Hello Ms.com-

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I'll try to live up to Caroline's flattery.

I'm a diehard Peter Gabriel fan, AND a diehard Erasure fan, so imagine my dismay at their cover of "Solsbury Hill" a couple years ago - two of my "golden boys" destroying one "sacred cow" of a song. But after hearing the rest of that album, I now understand "Solsbury Hill" as its most listenable moment.

How sad is that?

But, really. You should get to know Erasure - at least as a singles band. Oh, wait. You already have their latest greatest hits, right? So get their self-titled "Pink Floyd" album from 1995. Wonderful stuff, that. And guest wailing by Diamanda Galas to boot!

I don't know who Erasure are, actually...did I just make you feel old? Er?

Now I feel young.

I'm feeling a little old about this too... and watching Andy Bell's transformation from spritely little fairy to chiseled action figure is almost as disturbing as seeing Andrew Sullivan turning into a northwoods lumberjack (though I must say, the lumberjack look suits him well).

even if he's starting to look like an unambiguously gay cartoon superhero - but now, I'm just being catty

LOL!. It's true, though, he does.

But damn. 20 years. You just made me feel really old. Thanks. I still care about Erasure, I'm happy other people do, too. Even if your brother isn't one of them. Oh! The humanity.

Cheers,
