| leecil's Full Review: Fear of Fours by Lamb |
It was late at night, and I was watching MTv. Suddenly, the video for "B-line" comes on. I am mesmerized. "Lamb... write that down..." I think.
A month or two later, I am out buying Fear of Fours.
The album is extremely well crafted, and made on a balance. Part of the album is wonderful poppy techno such as "Ear Parcel", or catchy songs like "B-line". Songs where the bass and vocals come together and make the mix irresistible. The other part of the album are sweet anthems voiced by Lou Rhodes. "Alien" is one such example.
All in all, Fear of Fours is a very excellent album. Lou Rhodes and Andy Barlow make a wonderful team.
Fear of Fours is a perfect album to put on when you feel like dancing, or when you want some quiet music to wail along to. It is heartfelt, but not overly so. It is emotional, but in its own way.
The songs are truly for any occasion.
