Not quite sure. Methinks it was *possibly* on purpose. Especially considering the extreme strangeness on New Times.

And I don't like The Smiths either. Our tastes are polar opposite it seems :)

I don't think I could disagree with you any more if I tried... what is the world coming to, you don't like Tears for Fears, you don't like Portishead, and now you don't like the best album released in 2002!!! Oh well, it takes all sorts I guess...

I happen to think it's one of the most intelligent albums released since The Smiths were around, and has some of the best lyrics around. Yes, they've softened their sound, but they still sound better than any Indie band I can think of.... oh well.

Take care

Ha! Idlewild California...

And a list of "what not to buy" based on my reviews? Well, I guess if you tastes are close to mine it works. I'm just afraid that you're missing out on stuff I hate and the rest of the world loves. Or not. I guess my hate is there for a reason.

Shelly.
*BTW Thanksf for the comment.

I lived in Idlewild California. Not that it has anything to do with your review other than the names are the same I just thought id share.

Oh, btw-thanks for the heads up on the CD. I keep a list of "what not to buy", based on your reviews. So far youve been right on.

I guess you know that too-lol

attack of the horned evil beast woman... (Reply to this comment)

coming soon to a theater near you -
soon to be followed by a extremely thorough Jack_Sommersby dissertation, thevoid99's rant against the director for not casting Maggie Gyllenhaal in a lead role, and finally jeff_wilder78's lyrical song-stylings in an offbeat tribute to the horned evil beast woman...

SAVE FERRIS!

I actually kinda like this album (and am forced to stick up for them in a case of national pride) but do agree that it tails off in the second half.

Nice review still

This does surprise me...the people who saw them open for Pearl Jam this past summer all seemed to adore these guys
