| yesteryear's Full Review: The Empire Strikes First by Bad Religion |
Bad Religion returns with one amazing punk rock record! In the year 2004 punk rock seems to be hitting a bumpy patch, with so many bands hitting it big and "selling-out". True to form Bad Religion comes back with an amazing blend of politically and religiously charged lyrics and heart pounding punk rock.
Comprised of Greg Graffin (Vocals), Brett Gurewitz (Guitars and Backing Vocals), Jay Bentley (Bass and Backing Vocals), Brain Baker (Guitars and Backing Vocals), Greg Hetson (Guitars), and Brooks Wackerman (Drums and Percussion) Bad Religion are punk rock veterans staying true to themselves.
Some people say Bad Religion sold-out a long time ago, all I have to say is listen to this record...tell me with lyrics like
"In my rectory of doubt I kneel to pray like one devout,
As time the great gray dreamless sleep of a useless modern God,
Erodes away each storied day as wretched Adams with hell to pay,
Content upon a rail of pain for just a little rain..."
~All There Is
can there be any doubt that the heart of Bad Religion still beats fiercely in her breast?
