I notice that you did not have a link to cryptosicko's write-off entry on your profile page. I'm guessing she made no attempt to let you know she had posted. Anyway, here's the link:

By the way, I can tolerate the Pete Yorn songs on the radio, but he's nothing special to me.
Thanks as always for sharing!
Sincerely, Pat

I don't like to think of it in a lyrical sense. Obviously. Only musically. :)
Thanks for the comment. Glad to please!

Jeff Buckley? (Reply to this comment)
by omophagia
That one had me doing a double-take.
Who ever compared Pete Yorn to Jeff Buckley? I mean, I dug musicforthemorningafter, but there's nothing in Yorn's lyrics to match Buckley's depth, and Yorn's pleasant voice is light-years away from Buckley's phenomenal one. Comparing him to Rufus is even a stretch, I'd say, other than the fact that they both have a mumbled singing style.
I can't say that I've really been anticipating new material from Pete Yorn (my Spring music buying calendar has centered around Stephen Malkmus, The White Stripes, and Rosanne Cash), but the fact that, like his debut, it's priced under $10 means that I'll very likely pick this up eventually.
Anyhow. I'm rambling. Always a pleasure to read your reviews, though.
