Dbbum's Full Review: Furious [PA] by Soopa Villainz
What happens when you mix the world's most hated rap group with a few underground rap artists of equal hatred towards the music industry. The Soopa Villainz! This unique mixture of artists include Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope of the Insane Clown Posse, Lavel, and Esham. This album was a tough creation for the group for many reasons but the lack of quality is very evident. It's far worse than any of the jokers cards, but better than anything Lavel could dream of, so all in all, it ends up being a sub par release that you might except from Esham.
Furious was released in 2005 and includes a super villains theme, as opposed to super heros. Violent J is Mr Diamond (billionaire with no remorse), Shaggy 2 Dope is Mr Club (mix master of the turntables), Lavel is Mr Heart (user of women lover of none), and Esham is Mr Spade (prejudice against everyone). Altogether the entire setup is nothing more than a cheap gimmick that loosely holds the album together, similar to Violent J's Wizard of the Hood and Monoxide Child's Chainsmoker. Unless you are still a diehard juggalo and follower of Psychopathic Records, the Furious album probably will make you furious because it's a bunch of garbage with no rhyme or reason.
There's not much to say about the music because it's mostly random beats and nonsense, something you would associate with Esham or Lavel. Lyrics content is equally depressing as each song is based upon what the individual characters would do as a villain. Violent J is stealing money and jewelry, Shaggy is playing with turntables and killing disc jockeys, Esham is leading some kinda of army in a destruction of the world, and Lavel is mixing up with women and killing hoes.
List of Demands is one such example of this conduct in which they come up with a list of demands that include weed, women, jewels, cash, a bentley, keys to the white house and pentagon, a tank, a jet, a nuclear bomb. Lyrics: "Your lives don't mean sh!t to us, fact is we can't wait to bust, we got this world in our hands, meet our list of demands. Elvis was a hero to most, now I'm on my way to graceland to butter your toast, I need weed racing outta here at top speed".
Overall, Furious is a huge waste of time. Sure there are a few good moments but the whole villains theme gets boring after the first two songs. Furious does include some cool scratches and cuts with a industrial feeling, and it's not like any other psychopathic records album from Insane Clown Posse to Twiztid or even Esham or Lavel. So it does have its own uniqueness but it's still not enough to justify a purchase. Once again, this is another album for the diehard juggalo or those wanting to sample some of the weirdness that underground horrorcore has to offer. Definitely listen to the sample clips on Amazon or whatever before you lay down money on Furious or you might just be furious yourself.
