binhdinh's Full Review: The Crow by Original Soundtrack/Various Artists
To be completely honest, there are not that many soundtracks out there that I'd personally label my favorite due to some of its lack of effort or not so unique "stand out" style put into it,that I would honestly prefer in not only a soundtrack, but also an album. I usually don't go out buying a release of a soundtrack after watching the movie, but I guess one day I decided to listen to something I don't usually listen to on a daily basis... Here is the story:
I'm a very musically diverse individual who is always looking forward to getting into new sounds.Whenever I'm depressed, angry, or just in the "I HATE THE WORLD-SO KEEP YOUR DISTANCE FROM ME MOOD," I turn to music for a shoulder to lean on.
I was ruffling through my older brother's CLASSIC cd collection, and I came across "The Crow: Original Soundtrack." I decided to give it a listen since I haven't watched the film in centuries(being sarcastic.) I also just wanted to experiment with it-you know, pick out the tracks that I most enjoy, and tracks that just don't make my list. As I was listening to the soundtrack-the remembrance of the movie kept coming across my mind-practically captivating me into the mood and the atmosphere of the music , it was dark and bleak in abnormal, beautiful ways.It made me feel as if I was actually in the film ,as if I was filled with anger and vengeance like the character Eric Draven in "The Crow" played by the late Brandon Lee.
The Tracklisting:
1.Burn /The Cure
2.Golgotha Tenement Blues/ Machines of Loving Grace
3.Big Empty / Stone Temple Pilots
4.Dead Souls / Nine Inch Nails

14.It Can't Rain All the Time/ Jane Sibery
The Best Songs are:
Burn
Golgotha Tenement Blues

It Can't Rain All the Time.
Snake Driver
Color Me Once

Otherwise, this soundtrack is excellent, and is well known as a classic. It has went to number 1 on the Billboard Charts, and has shocked the music industry. It matches the movie so well; unlike other soundtracks, this one is special,it's darkly magical and moody. Put this into your CD player and take a walk around the block at night-you'll be in the darkest and eerie atmospheric mood ever. It is such an impact to all of the listeners whether you listen to Industrial/Goth, Alternative Rock,or Heavy Metal.
Even though some tracks may put you in a depressing mood ,I still love listening to it. I find myself listening to this on a daily basis now;as if it was my new musical routine. This is just my type of soundtrack, and basically what I prefer to listen to over what's playing on any station now.
