I saw Fantasia 2000 because I loved the original movie and I thought the rerelease in IMAX format would be an ideal combination for the concept. I wasn't disappointed. I expected more of the original in a clearer, more crisp version, but I was happy with the new segments. In fact, although the Sorcerer's Apprentice is a classic, and I enjoyed it for the nth time, I really liked the new ideas better. The opening scene provides some real eye candy, Donald's part in the arc scene is very touching, and the last episode is very dramatic. All enjoyable. There were a lot of children and the matinee I attended, and all were enthralled. The extra noise of the kids was a bit distracting, but I was happy that they were enjoying it. If you don't want the kids' chatter, take in a later show. This is a movie I strongly recommend for all ages. The music and cinematography are wonderful. Better than the original.
