azimhusain's Full Review: Attack of the 50 Foot Woman
Ok, maybe i'm biased as i'm one of those modern technology/ amazing special effects addicts... but my personal opinion of this movie- IT SUCKED. BIG TIME.
Plot
----
This woman (a generalized woman figure from the 1950's, one who has no power, is walked all over etc...) is miserable- her husband cheats on her, her father does not respect her and treats her like a child. One day, while driving through the desert, she gets "Attacked" by this amazingly fake, really badly made flying saucer. She tells everyone about it but obviously nobody believes her. she grows into this 50 foot woman in a few days and starts her rampage.
Special effects
---------------
worst i've ever seen. her height is REALLY unproportional- no ways is she 50 feet. The final scene shows her against some electricity pillars, which are usually over 100 feet tall. Yet she's atleast twice the size. a 6 foot guy fits in her palm which would make no sense if she were 50 feet tall. Interesting how she gets clothes that fit her... I'm not sure how they did the layering of scenes- i don't think they used the blue screen, or even if they did they did a REALLY bad job with it.
general
-------
Well the movie was on HBO and i have time to waste. i suggest nobody waste their time watching this movie though... its an ABSOLUTE waste of time. If you want to see special effects from that age, watch some of the original star wars... now they did a good job.
If you're obsessed with 1950 movies maybe you'd enjoy this, the main character looks a bit like demi moore and is quite pretty... but then again there's nothing to go on to make you fall in love with her, like what you do with the main female characters in other movies...
