Jaynrand's Full Review: Attack of the 50 Foot Woman
Here she is, boys! Here she is, world! It's Nancy Fowler Archer owner of the fabulous Star of India Diamond and heiress to the vast Fowler fortune (fifty million -1958- smackeroos). Well Nancy happens to see a satellite and a big transparent man (played by the guy who also plays Tony the bartender) and before long her husband Handsome Harry and his girlfriend, that red-headed wench he calls Honey are trying to ramrod Nance back into the insane asylum. After a second encounter of the third kind, Nancy grows into a 50-foot tall transparent woman with painted fingernails who tears up the town....and then tears up Harry. Nice car (1958 Imperial convertible), wild dancing (Frank Chase & Yvette Vickers), and Allison Hayes who is literally above it all. Made $400,000 on its initial release (May, 1958) and will NEVER go away. Bravo, Allison!!!
