I thought of that as well, maybe like one of those crystal shards he uses as the DVD player itself and the disc goes in sideways. Or maybe the Daily Planet.
Those would work. :)

True. And something for Superman too.

Only if I get some royalties.
Well, that would only be fair since you thought up the idea.
The same could be done with Batman. Market a limited edition Batcave DVD player with the movies. That could be cool as well.

Well..that would make a very interesting collectable. Are you sure you want to give him more ideas though? ;)

I can just see both DVD players going at the same time to really comapre the two versions now. Maybe Lucas should also sell a limited edition Star Wars DVD player with this set, and it could be shaped as the Death Star. Think of the possibilities.

But at least the original version is going to be released like so many of the fans have been wanting for years.

Re: I haven't (Reply to this comment)

seen this in years - and I still haven't seen the most recent one, though I think it's on the queue.......somewhere.
The new special edition version has really good picture quality.
You need to see Batman Begins..It is such a good movie.
I really only have two comments:
1) I would love to live in a city where a giant crime fighting bat didn't seem unusual. Well, except for all the grit and crime and all.
It would be kind of neat to live in a world where there were superheros of some kind, like a giant crime fighting bat. Though you are right, the grit and crime would be drawbacks. You probably couldn't go to half the city and all the icky grit would get tracked all over the house, thus leading to more cleaning. Yuck.
2) Who in the world would name their child "Sam Hamm"? That's just mean. Someone should have Batman deal with them.
That's a very good point. For some reason that didn't sink in earlier. LOL
Poor kid probably got teased horribly in school. Yes...Batman should be sicced on his parents for that injustice.

Correction. It has both the original and new versions in one set. What a marketing ploy. And, of course, I'll probably get it. *sigh*

Good point. He has made a huge habit of that. And by the way..have you heard there is another version of the Star Wars trilogy coming out in September? It's supposed to be the original versions because he started messing and changing stuff in the movies.

I blame George Lucas for the ever-continuing trend of releasing the same thing over and over again with just a little bit more added to each DVD. GAH!!!

Isn't that annoying? It would make things so much simplier for us if they would just release them at the same time.

Get the animated series!! HURRY!!
I'm sure I'll get it at some point.
I just got Sin City a month ago only to find out the director's cut came out. GRRRR! I have to get that now.

Ok. You're still ahead of me on the super hero movies. Though I'm working at it, at least with Batman movies. I'll probably pick up the animated series at some point too.

I thought about trying to write on Sin City when I rented it, but I just didn't know where to start then. Maybe if I get the movie eventually - I have considered the director's cut or whatever it is called - I might attempt it. But for now I'm focused on Batman I guess. :)

I haven't done the 1960s Batman movie yet. I also realize I should do the remaining two Superman movies as well. But it's just hard watching them. And yes, X2 is on my list. After that maybe I'll take a crack at Sin City.

You could always review that movie that done with Adam West and was all campy like the tv show. Or have you done that already too? And you might as well do the other X-Men movie since you've done 2 of them now.

Oh it was worth. So does the next Batman review come out next year? ;)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :) I don't think it will take me till next year for the next review. I'm not sure exactly when yet. I want to get my X-Men: Last Stand Review done..probably post that one tomorrow. So then once that is posted, I should be able to get to watching Batman Returns and then all the interesting extras.
The backstage politics are just as interesting as the production itself. I can't wait to see the new colelction of Superman DVDs and see what Richard Donner has to say about Superman II. It will be very interesting.
They can be. It probably will be interesting too.
I know. One more Batman review and I guess I should do an X2 review now.

Only if you are a firefighter, a superhero, or a stripper.
Nevermind, it still sounded dirty.
LOL. Ok. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I hope you think it was worth the wait.

I really enjoyed the extras and thought they were very interesting. I enjoy watching stuff like that too, espeically for movies that have a more unique look or plot. It didn't seem right that Alfred would just take Vicki in there. I think it was Hamm that said the scene was added as a way to move the story forward and share some more information. I can't remember exactly now.

Extensive information. I can see why this took a long time to write. You did an excellent job!
I ended up with a lot I wanted to say about this one. Since I did have the special edition DVD with all the extra goodies I wanted to talk about them too. I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I hope you think it was worth the wait.
I almost forgot about the Sean Young fiasco. She was set for the role of Catwoman until that accident. And when she was passed over, she went looney appearing at the different talk shows in a Catwoman outfit. Nutcase!
I remember seeing her in her own little catsuit on different shows claiming she should be Catwoman. There had to be some screws loose there. And from what I remember, her catsuit looked pretty bad too.
The extras sound absolutely great and I really want to get them now. I'm totally interested in the "making of..." scenarios. I love seeing how their minds worked to produce a film like this. I didn't know about the Sam Hamm part where they added the Vicki-Alfred-Batcave scene after he said he didn't approve of it. I didn't exactly like it either, but it happened.
