The Italian Film, the bicycle thief is a masterpiece. The entire story takes place in post-war Rome. There were very few available jobs and the main character, a husband and father in his late thirties gets a job opportunity working for the city.
Unfortunately, he needs a bicycle to get the job, so he pawns his sheets to buy a bicycle.
Soon after, his bicycle is stolen. Now the man must search all of Rome with his 6/7 year-old son searching for the man who stole his bicycle.
An interesting thing about this movie was that none of the main characters were played by proffessional actors or actresses. However, they all do a superb job and imho, they are more sincere actors than any in hollywood at the time.
I reccommend this film for anyone who has had a father or a son. They don't make movies like this one anymore.
