Anyone who lived a significant portion of their life in the eighties will appreciate this classic. Starring brat - pack superstars Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, and Anthony Michael Hall this movie brings out the true feelings that arise in every day high school life. Will I be popular? Who's going to be prom queen? Does he REALLY do drugs? "What's your poison?" Stereotyping five different cliques commonly found in high school (the princess, jock, criminal, nerd, and basket - case, as the film writers would have it), this movie shows one day in Saturday detention. As details unfold, the audience discovers just why each person is there and truly gets to appreciate and empathize with each character in a different way. The ending is uplifting (*for the most part).
I would recommend this movie to everyone, especially teenagers.
