initially i doubted your assertion that this is the best movie ever.
although i am still somewhat skeptical, at least now i can understand why you say that and put it in the top 10.

I admit, this movie, like Steppenwolf's Anarchist Theater, is "not for everybody." In fact, I'm willing to wager that majority of the world's population would label this movie as only mildly interesting. However, if you are able to appreciate the levels involved in this movie, that Burt and Dom, aren't acting, but instead, simply being themselves, then you're going to dig this movie. In fact, I would argue that it is only when they enter into character as two military personnel, part of an elite "Nuke Tac Team," instructed to bring nuclear waste to Connecticut because they "ran out," that Burt and Dom become characters. It's also hilarious to watch Telly Savalas act, when it seems he knows how bad this movie is. He pauses before a lot of his lines, almost as if he's hesitant to participate. I guess that's why I like this movie. It's bad. The actors know this AND THEY DON'T CARE. It's almost as though they're just interested in amusing themselves.

I gave you only a recommend because #1 I disagree with you that it is the best movie ever made and #2 you didn't really convince me otherwise. But is was a GREAT movie and a lot of fun to watch. I remember being so excited that they were coming out with a sequel cause I loved the first one so much. I got to watch Cannonball2 while I was getting my braces put on as a 10 year old. Thanks for the good memories.
