I'm sure everyone remembers the childhood favorites Alvin and the Chipmunks, the crazy side splitting antics of Alvin and his brothers Simon and Theodore. A tried and true favorite through the years. The Chipmunk Adventure is a ride back in time to where cartoons were actually fun.

The story line of the movie starts with the chipmunks guardian leaving town for a business leaving the disgruntled threesome behind with a somewhat confused nanny. The chipmunks, disgusted with the idea of staying with a nanny while Dave is out of town eventually end up in an arcade, while all of this is happening diamond smugglers are deciding a way to smuggle their loot around the world. The hear the chipmunks and the chippettes ( girl chipmunks) arguing about who could make it around the world faster. Doesn't take long before the diamond smugglers decide to get the chipmunk kids to smuggle the diamonds for them without knowing. Through some highjinx the boys trick their nanny into allowing them to make the trip by faking Dave's voice and manipulating a recording.

Disguised as a hot air balloon race, stopping in something of a doll relay through out the world, but little do the kids know , the dolls are filled with stolen diamonds and money. All of this leads to continuous laughs and thrills for the kids wrapped up by the usual chipmunk song antics.

All in all its a cute movie, with a cute theme done in classic style, only problem, the chipmunks are as usual full of mischief and deception, not exactly good examples, but in comparison to some of today's cartoons and movies, still a far lesser evil.

The animation is wonderful, songs cute although a little corny, over all a really cute movie for children, and past chipmunk fans
