Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.

There are about five or six films that are key films and the realm of science fiction, Close Encounters of the Third Kind is one the of those films. I have watched this film at least six or eight times and still get thrilled by it each time. The special effects still work well even today. Richard Dreyfus does an outstanding job playing the lead character. He makes the character totally believable. The scenes of his family life with the kids screaming and other things that go with a typical family make this a very realistic scene. My favorite part is always when the mother ship comes over the top of the mountain. I find this an incredible, and awe inspiring scene. I, myself, like the extended version with the scenes inside the ship. All in all I find this to be one of the top science fiction films ever made.
