Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.
True my epinion īConan the Barbarianī is the coolest character Arnold Schwarzenegger ever portraited, at the same time I think itīs one of the best epic adventures ever...
Long, long time ago. Before there was Frodo, there was Conan. As a young boy he sees his parents get killed by an evil looking man called Thulsa Doom (James Earl jones). After the massacre Thulsa and his army take Conan as a slave. The young boy grows as a savage barbarian with the looks of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Anyway Conan fights in arenaīs and prooves to be the best īgladiatorī around. When he finally getīs his freedom he goes out for revenge, meeting a barbarian love intrest and some friends to join him on his journey. The ultimate face off: Settle the score with Thulsa Doom.
Like I said, probably the most powerfull Schwarzenegger film around. Not only that, probably the best epic adventure movie around. The actual power of the film is not strong dialoge, but great visuals combined with a truly fantastic soundtrack. Director John Milius and composer Basil Poledouris really did a great job directing and composing this film. The visuals are amazing, the detail of the suits, the incredible landscapes... Combined with trumbling classical music and some very cool almost savage beats this movie will make your heart beat faster.
What about the acting? Well Arnold is just Arnold, but Conan is by far out the coolest character heīs ever played. The man was made for doing this part! In a way he prooves to be a great actor, even dough heīs sometimes laughable. The expressions he does with his face are unique, and that makes Schwarzeneggers character Conan so unforgettable. Simply because heīs so believable playing a barbarian.
James Earl Jones on the other hand is probably the most evil looking villain ever brought to screen; Thulsa Doom. Now as a kid this guy made me really scared, with his long black hair and strangely green coloured īkillerī eyes. Today heīll still give me the chills, James Earl Jones portraits the ultimate villain!
There are some slight negative points; The plot isnīt 100% īwaterproofī and sometimes the acting by Schwarzenegger and some others is laughable, even dough itīs not ment to be. But these are just two small negatives.
The action? Well letīs keep it straight, even dough this film dates way back in 1982 -believe me- there still isnīt a better epic barbarian movie...
I think films like īLord of the Ringsī, īThe Scorpion Kingī, etc. never make it on the BLOODY realistic level of Conan. Conanīs world is just a unique one: with hard violence, bloody creatures, evil witches, a dark army, and plenty of barbarians...
So true my epinion īConanī is a masterpiece on itīs own. Schwarzenegger throws around with axes and swords! Besides being the ultimate barbarian the man also shows a heart..
If you havenīt seen this film yet, thereīs still a masterpiece waiting out there for you to be discovered! Check it out...
