very nice review (Reply to this comment)

I enjoyed your comments about the cinematography and its role in the telling of the story. I remember the remarkable visual quality of the film from when it first came out.

It would be nice if Criterion Collection brought out an edition of The Conformist. I notice they have just put out their first Bertolucci film, La Commare Secca.

I'll be awaiting your review of The Dreamers which is in the top ten of my list for best films of 2004 for many reasons. I love your review of this film and yeah, I would've given this five-stars if it wasn't for the atrocious dubbing. Great review man.

I forgot there was an earlier exception... So sorry, Master!

The range from 1 through 4 indicates accurately the divergence of opinions about "The Dreamers," and you seem to have seen most of the major earlier Bertolucci movies recently, making your take on it of even greater than usual interest (and not just to me, though I don't remember who earlier sought to cajole you to epine on "The Dreamers").

I did previously give The Spider's Strategem a five-star rating. I'll take a look at The Dreamers sometime in the next month, although I note that there are already a dozen reviews for it (ranging from one star to four) including several top reviewers. I hate to tread the worn path! I've already got Baise Moi and Salo in my queue to be reviewed and if I add The Dreamers, I imagine my reputation as a decent kind of guy will go down the tubes!

First the delinquent review of "Union Pacific" and now a 5-star-rated review of a Bertolucci movie. I am one of those awaiting your take on "The Dreamers."
