the Leslie Neilsen ratings (Reply to this comment)
by voxpoptart
Aside from inspiring Red Dwarf (a lovely show i know of because Epinions's kris-kochanski inspired me view her namesake), i wonder if this helped influence the Airplane! / Naked Gun series, which were also good because the actors played them straight? I think it's a very underrated idea - in 99% of weird comedies, the actors seem to think they should ham it up every second. Some of the comedies work anyway, but it can be painful to watch. Yay for Mr. Carpenter, at least the young student version.
cheers,
- Brian
