I just saw this movie in my Religion in America class. I found Lancaster's Gantry intriguing in his largely unreadable role. I suspect he was equal parts con man and sincere Christian. A fascinating character I souldn't help but sympathize with. Have you ever seen "Leap of Faith" with Steve Martin? Another great movie with a similar theme.
