Opinion Summary
Steve Miner's Friday the 13th Part 3
by Mike_Bracken | Nov 02 '00
Pros: Richard Brooker is a good Jason, Jason gets the hockey mask, and the final chase sequence
Cons: flat performances, a lack of gore, that cheesy disco score in the opening credits...

You never really commented on the fact that most of this film seems to be filmed on a set as opposed to on location. This gives it a very "Hollywood" feel. This, #2 and #6 were my favs. Good review.

because I pretty much hate all slasher flicks without exception. I have to admit, though, that reading your reviews of them is a pleasure.

Nice work.

I HATE this movie. One of my least favorite in the series.

I'd think twice about giving it one star... I don't even think it deserves that!

"You hit this guy, he bleeds—all of which gives the audience a sense of hope, making them believe the heroine might actually be able to vanquish the monster. Later installments in the series would be less successful in this regard, because once Jason becomes a re-animated corpse, there’s no hope that anyone mortal can do anything other than slow him down for a few minutes."

I just wanted to point out that I feel the same way. That's a big part of why I love Part 4...Jason is still mortal, thus he is extremely frightening, but not hopelessly lethal. He can be harmed. Plus, it was always fun to see how hacked up he could be at that point while still surviving. Now, he's a big zombie and we know that know one can kill him without some superhuman means. Great review!
