I'm pretty sure I've seen the Guns of Navarone before, but I dont remember what happened. I saw my local Blockbuster had the new DVD of it and I rented it.
Let me tell you, I LOVE WW2 movies. My favorites include 'The Great Escape', 'The Devils Brigade' and 'The Longest Day'. My dad had always told me, "You need to see this movie!" and I always was like, "Yea, yea, when I get that bored."
I popped it in my DVD player and let it roll. The quality was UNBE-FREAKING-LIEVABLE! I never saw such a great picture. I mean, this movie was made some 40 or 50 years ago and it puts the Matrix to shame. The acting is great. I always like it when the Germans actually speak German and not english(although it should be noted, the germans have british accents). The storyline is great. I had to tell myself several times, "They're the good guys! Of course they win!". The twists are really something.
As for the special features associated with DVD's, the added features are pretty standard. You've got movie trailer, directors commentary, and actors interview. I would have liked to see something special(like bloopers or info on the battles, etc) but it's still pretty darn amazing.
