repeated viewings (Reply to this comment)

Hannah is always reviewed as one of the very best Woody Allen movies, and I didn't really agree with it, either, the first time around. But watch it again two or three times down the road and its cumulative effect will grow on you. (Dianne Wiest in particular is terrific.) I still don't think it tops Annie Hall -- Manhattan, maybe -- but it is a strong ensemble drama/comedy and a warm-up for an even better executed ensemble effort, 1989's Crimes and Misdemeanors. You definitely can't beat that one. Nice review, though...

Love them all! (Reply to this comment)

Annie Hall, Manhattan, Hannah and Her Sisters, I love them all. But I think Hannah is my favorite because of the music, the recurrent Thanksgiving setting, and Woody's quest for meaning in life.
