since I even thought of "Harold and Maude" -- so long that I got it confused with "Harry and Tonto." Let me get this right; Tonto was a cat, right?
Thanks for an discerning and artful entry in the re-writeoff. Sorry Epinions wouldn't let me put my entry in!

Thanks for the kind comments all of you. Appreciate it.
One shouldn't actually feel the least bit guilty for liking this excellent film of course. I had forgotten Ebert disliked it.
I actually sampled the dialogue from the wonderful daisy scene. Where Harold says he wants' to be one of a field of daisies and when asked why he says because they are all the same and
Maude rather excitedly explains Oh but they are not, this one has lost a petal, this one is turned to the right, turned the left... that's the problem with the world, we are all like this (a unique daisy) but we are thought of like that...
Anyway I actually ran out of room on putting my review down. LOL..
That's right it was actually about 1,500 words LONGER.
Thanks for enjoying.

And I don't care how much Ebert hated it!
So many memorable scenes--I especially am touched by the one where Maude explains the uniqueness of the daisies.
Very thorough and enjoyable analysis!

with your review, but the original would've sold me as well since I love Cat Stevens' Tea For The Tillerman. I learned one thing from the original I didn't in rewrite, that is the year! Loved the analysis and personal reflection. Thanks.

This movie was one of my faves as a "cult" classic... (Reply to this comment)

...in the early 70s when I was in college, and remains so today.
A great flick that will forever embed Bud Cort in my consciousness.
Took me back. Thanks.
