"How the West was Won" is an epic in proportion. With stars like Debbie Reynolds, Carroll Baker, Lee J. Cobb, Henry Fonda, James Stewart, Gregory Peck, Agnes Moorehead, George Peppard, Carolyn Jones, Karl Malden, Robert Preston, how can it lose.
Even though this one is rather long, it has a great story to it that follows generations of people west. From the Missouri wagon trains to the Iron Rails west, to the civil war. It shows the gradual movement of the people and the struggles they faced as they went westward. Each segment of it has a different story to tell about the development of the west and the characters it took to move this country. It's almost a history lesson in itself.
The music and scenery are beautiful and a down home wholesome movie for the family.
Some of it's appeal is lost to VHS but the laserdisc has it all.
