A small island town is terrorized by a massive killer shark who has no mercy on the swimmers of Amity Island. This classic story starts off on a clear night near the ocean when two young lovers go for a swim and one of them does not return. A small tug at her feet and she knows she is in trouble. The rest is history.

Taking a look at the behind the scenes footage and interviews, if the director and actors knew of the trouble they would have had making this film they would have never done it. There were times when the shark would not work at all and the mechanics were not cooperating with the team and it was just pure hell. All in all a fun movie to make at times and not so fun at other times.

A favorite scene of mine is when the chief is throwing in food to attract the great white when all of a sudden we see the head emerge slowly out of the water and then back down again. You're going to need a bigger boat is a classic Hollywood line that everyone will remember from this film. Another memorable scene is when the chief gives three shots at the end and the shark is destroyed. Ever wonder what happened to that particular shark. Here is a little overview. They named the shark Bruce and if you want to see it well all you have to do is take a trip to a junkyard where it hangs and I believe it is up for auction. Not sure where exactly but that was the last scoop I heard.

A terrifying film to watch any time of the year and the best part is that it is the kind of film we can watch more than once. It made movie history and will always be remembered.
